Chris Bartley Jr., age 66, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at his home. Chris was born on July 14, 1958 to his parents the late Chris Bartley and Hazel Anderson Bartley. He was the husband of Judy Bowens Bartley, a retired coal miner, and a member of the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Chris was preceded in death by one sister, Ella Jean Little.
Along with his wife, Chris is survived by three children, Vickie (Bobby) Spears, Toby Thacker, Savannah (Matthew) James, five grandchildren, Serenity Conway Julie James, Kansas Conway, Matthew James, April (Colby) Conway and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1p.m. at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Looney, Ray Tackett, and Oscar Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Cemetery.
