Christ Lee Harsh Jr.

Christ "Skip" Lee Harsh, Jr., age 65, of Long Neck, DE, formerly of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 21, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.
Skip was born in Lancaster, PA, on August 4, 1959, the son of the late Christ Lee Harsh, Sr. and the late Bertha Lorraine (Hall) Harsh. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, retiring after 22 years of service as a Sergeant First Class.
Skip worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for Waste Management in Pennsylvania before moving to Delaware. While working for Waste Management, Skip received a Presidential Award for participating in the cleanup after 9/11 at the Pentagon. Following his move to Delaware, he became a security officer for the Pot-Nets Communities.
Community service was always important to Christ as he was a volunteer firefighter for the Mount Joy Fire Department in Pennsylvania. After moving to Delaware, Christ continued to serve his community as a Fire Police officer and past Fire Police Captain with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. Christ also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and NASCAR as he was a big Dale Earnhardt fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tracy Harsh. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Donna Lee (Fackler) Harsh; two children, Connie Harsh and Christ Eugene Harsh; three grandchildren, Sky Kline, Autumn Bixler, and Kyle Harsh; and four great-grandchildren, Elijah Kline, Grayson Kline, Blake Lee Kline, and Arianna Lockard. Skip is also survived by his four siblings, Shelly Merkert, Doug Harsh, Brian Harsh, and Denise Goldberg, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon with firefighter honors. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
