Christine Ann Harding, affectionately known as Chris to friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan. Born on March 20, 1960, in Wayne, Michigan, Chris lived a vibrant life characterized by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to children with special needs, and her lively spirit that brought joy to all who knew her.
Chris's journey through life was marked by deep connections and enduring love. She was a devoted wife to Scott Hoedl, a role that she cherished with every fiber of her being. As a daughter to the late Richard and Donna (Woody Mosley) Harding, Chris embodied the values and love instilled in her from an early age. Her nurturing heart shone brightest in her role as a mother to Rachel (Christopher) Jackson and Becky (Robert) Olsen, imparting wisdom and laughter in equal measure.
Family meant everything to Chris, and she took immense pride in being a sister to the late Donald (Kimberly) Harding, the late Danny (Doreen) Harding, Dale (Janet) Harding, Katherine Harding, and Dennis Harding. Her role as a Gigi to Leeann, Skylar, and Ella was one she held most dear, always ready with a hug and a story to share. Her nieces and nephews found in her a confidante and an endless source of fun.
Chris's professional life was a reflection of her caring and selfless nature. For 20 years, she worked as a Paraprofessional with special needs children, touching countless lives with her kindness and patience. Her work was more than a job; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and dedication.
Beyond her family and work, Chris was known for her zest for life and her varied interests. She was a "Gigi" not only in name but in spirit, holding the family together with her strength and warmth. Her love for the lottery, especially Keno, was matched only by her enjoyment of TikTok videos and the thrill of scary movies. Chris's personality was often described as "spicy," a testament to her strong sense of self and her readiness to embrace life's adventures.
An avid baker, Chris's Christmas cookies were legendary, a sweet reminder of her love for the holiday season. Her caring and kind soul was evident in her humor and her stubbornness, a combination that made her uniquely Chris. She often shared a heartfelt quote with her children, "I love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my mommy you'll be," encapsulating the eternal bond she shared with them.
Those who knew Chris will remember her as loving, kind, and funny-a beacon of light that brightened every room she entered. Her legacy will live on in the laughter she shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
Christine Ann Harding's life was a tapestry woven with the love of her family, the joy of her friendships, and the impact of her work. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Chris's spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as it always has.
