She was born in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Nathaniel Burke and Wyetta Branigan; the oldest of 6 siblings. Christine married Daniel Ruff on July 3, 1965, in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on June 16, 2018.
Christine received her Nursing Degree from Blackhawk Technical College working as a Registered Nurse in various nursing homes and Beloit Memorial hospital. She retired from Beloit Convalescence Center. Christine loved being with her family and friends; especially her daughter Pam who will miss her dearly. She was the big sister that protected and cared for her siblings. She always took the time to listen and offered her shoulder to cry on. Her passion for nursing and caring for others passed on to her children who've committed their lives to public service and caregiving. As a woman of faith, she worshiped with her family at Beloit Gospel Hall.
Survivors include her children: Pamela and James Ruff of Janesville, WI; sons: Edward (Phyllis) Ruff of Georgetown, TX; and Kevin Ruff of Milton, WI. 3 grandchildren: Khristina, Daniel and Everton Ruff. 5 great grandchildren: Tony Fair, Ariana and Nicholas Vega, Serenity and Nicholas Ruff. Siblings: Natalie Huntington (Eldridge), Fatimah Omar (Gerald), Anna Branigan-Sweeney (Glen), Bridget Jensen (d.Greg), Robert Branigan, Martha Branigan-Sutton (Quinn); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband and son, Daniel Ruff and Daniel Ruff Jr and granddaughter, Melissa Benti-Vega.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 with an 11:00 AM visitation and 12:00 PM service at the Rosman Funeral Home, 1125 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.Rosmanfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank Sun Valley East Retirement Living, the Beloit Regional Hospice care team, and the Rosman Funeral Home for their care and services.
