Christopher Berry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
Christopher Joseph Berry was born on June 19, 1973 in Portland, Oregon to Carol Ann and Merle Berry. He courageously battled severe depression for many years. He unexpectedly passed away August 7, 2025.

Christopher attended North Albany Elementary and Middle School and West Albany High School, graduating in 1991. He was a participant and excelled in many sports including basketball, soccer, track and golf. He attended the University of Oregon, graduating in 1995. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity where he made lifelong friends. Christopher was a forever Duck fan!

Christopher attended Pacific University College of Optometry graduating in 2003. He joined his father, Merle, in practice at Albany Eyecare. Two years later his brother, Jonathan, became a partner. Together they built a successful optometric practice where Christopher was loved and respected by patients, staff, and colleagues.

During the summer of 1993, Christopher worked at Grand Teton National Park. There he met and fell in love with his beloved Tami. They were married August 18, 1996 in Spokane, Washington. They were blessed with two precious daughters: Annie born in 2002, and Molly born in 2004. He was a doting father to his two daughters and was involved in all aspects of their lives. He coached their teams, took them on dinner dates and even played Barbies. Christopher and Tami were an amazing team who supported each other, worked hard, enjoyed travels far and near and took joy in their girls and family. He loved the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic skier, mountain biker, hiker, and an all in pickleball player!

Christopher was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a special talent for making all of us laugh and made sure that we knew we were loved. He will be missed and loved forever.

He is survived by his loving wife Tami (Sharp), daughters Annie and Molly, parents Carol Ann and Merle Berry, brother Jonathan and wife Amy, Tami's parents, Ralph and Maureen Sharp, brother Kurt and wife Sarah, as well as beloved nieces Maggie, Elsa, and Katie, and nephew Charlie, and his uncle Allen Berry and wife Sarah, cousins, Kristin, James and Kate. His uncle David Crooks preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Christopher Berry Scholarship Fund at the Albany Boys and Girls Club or the Albany Public Schools Foundation in Christopher's name. A family gathering was held to honor Christopher.

Our family has been going to that office for 23 years. Dr Berry was always easy to talk too. If we had concerns about a medical issue he would always listen and go the extra mile to help. So sad to hear of his passing . We also got the pleasure of meeting the family at some school functions . He will be missed and prayers for the family

Tyson here, Chris Berry was my first best friend when my family moved to Albany in 1980. We enjoyed countless hours as children together, and I truly enjoyed every moment. We even got married together, Chris got married to Brook (his first girlfriend ) andI got married to Carolee Clark, My memories with Chris are filled with smiles and laughter. We hadn't talked in many years, and though our friendship was a thing of the past, those Childhood memories with CB were the stuff every child would be so lucky to have. Were blessed to have him in our lives. Love ya Chris.
