Christopher “Chris” Milton Gagnon, 59, of Madisonville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. Chris was born on November 1, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Milton L. and Nancy Velleman Gagnon. He was an avid outdoorsman who served in the Army National Guard. He attended Jesuit High School of New Orleans, the University of New Orleans, and Louisiana Tech, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his parens, Milton Gagnon and Nancy Velleman Gagnon, grandparents, Lynn C. and Thelma Doullut Gagnon, and Nathanial R. and Irene Ardizone Velleman, as well as uncles, Lynn Paul Gagnon, James Gagnon, and Kenneth Velleman.
Chris was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Shannon; his children, Christian, Andrew, Lindsey, James, and Elise; his brothers, Kevin, Keith, and Kirk; and a large extended family.
His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him and his presence in the lives of all who loved him will be deeply missed.
A private memorial to honor Christopher’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (formerly the Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Formerly JDRF)), an organization especially meaningful to Chris as a parent of a Type 1 Diabetic.
Please consider a donation as requested by the family.
