Christopher Michael Hatch departed this life on August 18, 2025, after a brief and sudden illness that overtook him. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home and Prairie View Crematory of Plainview, TX.

Chris, as he wanted to be called, was born on September 23, 1976, in Lockney, TX, to Michael and Sherita Hatch in Plainview, TX.

Chris worked alongside his mother, Sherita, at the Seth Ward Water Supply for the past 28 years as a dedicated Water System Operator. Saying he loved video games would be an understatement-he truly lived for playing games on his Xbox. His mother, Sherita, will deeply miss their thoughtful discussions about the Bible; he had a sincere and personal relationship with the Lord. His passion for music led him to attend many concerts with his close friend, Trey Beasley. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Chris is survived by his parents, Mike and Sherita Hatch; his sister, Heather Hatch Curtis, and her husband, Richard Curtis; his nephews, Dylan, Dalton, and Easton Curtis of Snyder, TX; his niece, Emilee Decker, and her husband, Caelan Decker; and his great-nephews, Hendrix and Teddy Decker of O'Donnell. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Lee and Oleta (Henegar) Owens, Joe Hatch and Edna Hatch, as well as his aunt, Nodadell Owens Baker.
