Christy Sue McWilliams, 62, of Nelsonville, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 26, 1962, in Waverly, the daughter of the late Eugene Homer and Barbara Jean (Poling) McWilliams. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Pitre, who she was with for over 40 years.

In addition to Joseph, Christy is survived by her children, Lee (Erin) McWilliams of Carbon Hill, Trisha Pitre of Nelsonville, Brian Pitre of Nelsonville, and Christen (Austin) McWilliams-Whitlach of Chauncey; grandchildren, Keo, Jax, Anmarie, and Logan; brothers, Kenny Barnhart and Jeff McWilliams; sisters, Margaret McWilliams and Dorothy (Bud) McKay; nieces and nephews, Amy McWilliams, Krystal Pitre, Buddy Allen McWilliams, Cody Pitre, Daniel Pitre, and numerous others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Alexandria Pitre; brothers, Homer McWilliams, Greg McWilliams, and Mike McWilliams; and nephew, Trevor McWilliams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may visit Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.
