Cliff Zimmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Dec. 10, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford R. Zimmer, a beloved member of the Harrison community, who departed this world on December 8, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 9, 1934, in Dover, Indiana, to Raymond and Florence (née Welch) Zimmer, Cliff's journey led him to Harrison, where he would leave an indelible mark on all who knew him.
After graduating from William Henry Harrison High School where he was an avid baseball and basketball player, Cliff proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. After returning home, he worked at The Kroger Company as a butcher before purchasing The Stateline Café. In the early 1970s, with Cliff's love of bowling and the availability of the business, he purchased the original Harrison Bowl that was located on Harrison Ave. He operated it until building the new Harrison Bowl on Stone Drive in 1975. Harrison Bowl ran as a place where community and camaraderie flourished under his stewardship until his retirement.
Cliff married his beloved wife, Reva, on January 3, 1977. Together, they raised a blended family, building a life filled with love and laughter. In retirement, Cliff and Reva embraced their adventurous spirits, traveling the world and creating cherished memories at their second home in Winneconne, WI. Cliff and Reva visited their Wisconsin home often and enjoyed snowmobiling with their dear friends. If Cliff wasn't snowmobiling, you might find him up in his hunting cabin with his buddies.
A man of deep warmth, Cliff had a unique sense of humor and was able to draw people in, making each person feel like an immediate friend. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fishing, golfing, hunting or snowmobiling. But, his greatest passion was collecting a myriad of items in his beloved Pole Barn, from ice cream scoops to milk bottles, to antique bicycles, and, of course, antique cars. If you couldn't find Cliff, he was most likely up at the Pole Barn 'tinkering'.
Cliff is survived by his devoted wife, Reva Zimmer; his beloved daughters, Debbie (Chuck Warinner) Zimmer and Teresa (Geno) Dietz; his son Mike Zimmer; and his cherished grandchildren, Chelsea (Robert "Bobby") Seiter, Samantha (Logan) Schneider, Ryan Dietz and Corey Zimmer. He found immense joy in his great-grandchildren, Chase and Harper Seiter, and Wyatt Schneider, who undoubtedly brightened his days. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Davidson, brother-in-law Tim (Nancy) Hudson, and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Diane Zimmer, and his devoted parents, Raymond and Florence Zimmer.
In honor of Clifford's remarkable life, visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, located at 201 S. Vine Street in Harrison, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service, which will commence at 11:30 AM. Pastor Scott Holland will officiate the service. Following the funeral, family and friends will gather at Glen Haven Cemetery at 12:30 PM to pay their final respects, where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison Honor Guard and the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or a charity of your choice. A funeral home representative will be able to assist with memorials during the visitation.
