Clifford H. Hilberg, 94, formerly of Kutztown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA. He previously was a resident at Keystone Villa, Fleetwood, PA. Clifford was the widower of Judith M. (Stettler) Hilberg, who died May 17, 2018, and whom he married on August 22, 1959.
Born in Kutztown, Clifford was a son of the late Earl C. and Florence C. (Siegfried) Hilberg. Clifford was an active member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He honorably and faithfully served our country as a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War.
Clifford was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1950. He lived his entire life in Kutztown and grew up as "One of the Noble Street boys".
Clifford was employed as a composing room printer for Reading Eagle Company, Reading, and a long-time member of the printing sector of CWA Local 14830, until his retirement in 2001, after 26 years of service. Prior, he was employed at Kutztown Publishing Company, in a similar capacity.
Clifford was a member of Kutztown Fire Company and its bowling team. He also bowled on a league at the former Crystal Bowl, Kutztown. He was a life member of Ray A. Master, Post 217 American Legion, Topton. Clifford was a member of Huguenot Lodge #377, F.&A.M., Kutztown; and East Penn Chapter #336, Order of the Eastern Star, Kutztown.
Clifford was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports teams, found joy in working in his yard, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the genuine respect he showed to everyone he met.
Clifford is survived by his daughters, Holly A. (Hilberg), wife of James F. Cressman, Kutztown, Heidi A. (Hilberg), DaRe, Kutztown; sons, Cliff W., husband of, Tammy L. (Mulutzie) Hilberg, Douglassville, and Tarry A. Hilberg, Eagleville, Montgomery County; three grandchildren, Jules A. DaRe, Savannah L. DaRe and Kaitlyn A. Hilberg, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Judy, Clifford was predeceased by a sister, Dolores (Hilberg) Pentz.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Clifford's life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Laura L. Stoneback, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home. An Eastern Star Service will begin at 10:15 a.m.
