Clyde "Cliff" Clifford Rogers, Jr., born on June 21, 1947, in Bristol, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2025, at Atrium Health in Charlotte. A dedicated professional, Cliff spent much of his life in banking, where he served as a respected loan officer, contributing significantly to the financial well-being of countless individuals and families.
Beyond his career, Cliff was cherished for his vibrant spirit and loving nature. He was a fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed creating lasting memories with his family. Cliff was actively involved in his community, holding membership with the Corinthians Masonic Lodge 416, and serving in the Rotary for many years, showcasing his commitment to service and fellowship.
Cliff is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Barbara Gantt Rogers; his sons, William "Will" Benjamin Rogers and his wife Christine, and Barry Dean Wise, Jr. and his wife Lisa; along with his beloved grandchildren, Lauren Cloninger (Jacob), Daniel Rogers, Kayla Wise (Chase Payne), and Lindsey Wise. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Bailey Wise and Felix Cloninger, one brother, Tony Rogers (Debi), and one sister, Kim Gentry (Mark), not to mention numerous wonderful friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Cliff's parents, Clyde Clifford Rogers, Sr and Rebecca Gurley Rogers, preceded him in death, leaving a legacy that he continued to honor through his own family.
Visitation for Cliff will be held on January 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 with Reverend Ken Spaulding officiating. His burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC. Pallbearers will be Will Rogers, Dean Wise, Daniel Rogers, Jacob Cloninger, Chase Payne and Ricky Rhyne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605
Cliff's warmth, kindness, and joy will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
