Connie Jane (Williams) Deen of Winslow, IN went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2025, after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. She was born June 8, 1956, to Loyce and Clarice Ann (Lockhart) Williams.
Connie was a member of the Wood Memorial High School class of 1974. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church of Oakland City. As a young girl and teen, she attended Forsythe United Methodist Church and most recently attended Patoka Grove Church.
Connie was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for many years. Then, she worked at Sears and Roebuck, Winslow Bank, Spurgeon State Bank at both Arthur and Spurgeon branches and was a Spurgeon EMT that helped during the Petersburg Tornado of 1990. In later years, she worked part time at Holiday Foods in Haubstadt, IN.
Connie was so very talented, which you could tell from the moment you stepped into her home. She missed her call as an interior decorator. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making crafts of any sort. She could sew, embroider, toll paint, quilt, make bows and paint ceramics. Connie loved the color purple, anything patriotic, shopping, and collecting antiques. Anyone that knew her would say that she was the sweetest, most social lady ever. She loved to talk to people and make them smile. During her battle with sickness, for a tiny lady, she was feisty, had spunk and was a fighter like no other. Connie loved many things in her life but above all were, Jesus, her family, grandchildren, her dog Sassy Pants and her friends fiercely.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her two daughters, Misty (Ryan) Coleman of Winslow, Mindy Hyatt of Huntingburg; a sister, Caren (Terry) Richeson of Princeton; her grandchildren Abigail Flores of Indianapolis, Elijah & Samuel Coleman both of Winslow; two great-grandchildren, Genesis and Xavier Flores, nephew Tyler (Sara) Richeson; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Davita Dialysis' staff in Princeton, Indiana, Dr. Gary Keepes and staff at Deaconess Clinic Petersburg, Dr. Narothama Reddy and NP-Jessica of Deaconess Hospital Nephrology, Ride Solutions staff and drivers, all the wonderful friends and family who took her back and forth to dialysis. We cannot thank you all enough for your diligence, love, knowledge and patience and the many extra years of life, with the Lord's help, you were able to provide to Connie.
We ask in lieu of flowers and gifts; donations be made to:

I went to school with Connie, where our friends were like family. She always had a great smile, even if she was dealing with her own problems, you would never know it. I lost touch with her after we all graduated and had separate lives, but when we did see each other, we picked back up where we left off not missing a beat. Her great personality and sense of humor made anybody who knew her immediately like her. It saddens me to know of her passing. My condolences to her family and those who knew and loved her.
