Robbie Hamer

Robbie T. Hamer, 64 of Oakland City, IN., entered into rest at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN on April 3, 2025 surrounded by his family. Robbie was born to Bill and Bonnie (Akers) Hamer in Princeton IN. on February 13, 1961. He was a 1979 graduate from Wood Memorial High School. Robbie married his loving wife Anita on May 8, 1982.
Robbie was a member of the Oakland City F&AM Lodge #467 and the Evansville Scottish Rite. He was the board President for the Forsythe Cemetery in Oakland City, IN. He was a huge motocross fan and loved traveling watching Kody and numerous other riders race. Long before social media, he brought the motocross community together in our tri-state area running his SIMX website. He also was a coach for numerous softball and basketball teams at East Gibson over the years. Robbie loved to spend his time with his family, watch his kids and grandkids in their numerous activities, go on side-by-side trips with Anita and their friends and anything else outdoors. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals & Indiana Hoosiers. He spent a lot of his time at the ballpark with his grandchildren and even picked up a lot of kids he considered his ballpark "grandkids". Not only did Robbie have his ballpark "grandkids" he also had his vacation "kids & grandkids" who he loved to travel with. Robbie was loved and adored by all those he met. He will be truly missed by those who loved him dearly.
Robbie is survived by his wife Anita Hamer; his children Brittany (Matt) Poling and Kody (Aeriel) Hamer; his grandchildren, Cloey French, Landon Poling, Ryder Hamer, Lucas Poling, and Logyn Hamer; his sister, Misty Sevier, brother, Chuck (Janet) Hamer, sisters-in-law's, Gina (Dean) Scott and Teresa (Jeff) Barton; his nieces and nephews, Courtney (DJ) Sevier, Conner (Amanda) Sevier, Justin (Hannah) Mallory, Zach (Emily) McEllhiney, Damon (Levyn) McEllhiney, Tori (Connor) Smith, Samantha Scott, and Will (Kaylee) Scott; and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Robbie is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bonnie Hamer.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Malin officiating. Burial will be private for immediate family only.
