Constance (Chasse) Lombardi, of Plantsville, CT, formerly of West Hartford and born in St. David, ME, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, just days before her 80th birthday.
Constance was the beloved mother of Thomas Lombardi Jr. and his wife Kharah of Scottsdale, AZ; Gregory Lombardi and his wife Jodi of Berlin, CT; and Mark Lombardi and his wife Sarah, also of Scottsdale, AZ. Known affectionately as "Mémère," she was a devoted grandmother to her eight cherished grandchildren: Chase, Crew, Cate, Jackson, Harrison, Jersey, Jagger, and Harlo Lombardi.
Constance was one of ten siblings and is survived by her sisters, Agatha St. Amant and her husband Roger, Geraldine Zimmitti and her husband Tony, and Noella Paradis, all of CT; her brother, Gerard Chasse and his wife Pauline of ME; and sister Linda Chasse of ME. She was predeceased by her sisters, Blanche Fournier, Phelime Cote, Anita Martin, and Jacqueline Dionne. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to raising her three sons, Constance, known to many as "Connie" or "Tance", was a hardworking woman. She held positions at American Greetings and later as a bank teller. Gifted as a handywoman, she loved tackling do-it-yourself projects around the house. During the wallpaper craze of the 1980s, she became a master at hanging wallpaper and often helped friends and family with their home projects.
Connie had a smile that could light up any room. She found joy in singing and cooking and leaves behind a legacy of treasured family recipes. She had an innate ability to care for others, always the first to offer help, and her gentle touch and sense of humor made her a beloved caregiver. Her close bond with her sisters was especially meaningful, she loved their card games and time spent together.
An animal lover at heart, she adored family pets and had a special fondness for penguins, amassing a large collection of penguin figurines and decorations over the years.
Connie's love, laughter, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the kind and compassionate staff and friends at LiveWell, whose care and friendship brought comfort and joy to Connie in her final years.
