Corlene “Corky” Snyder passed away on March 30, 2025, in Marysville at the age of 96.
She was originally from Wooster, Ohio before moving to Marysville, Ohio in 2020 to live with her daughter Linda Shandle.
Corlene was born on May 30, 1928, to Howard and Corle (Ault) Zimmerman.
Corky grew up in Rittman, Ohio and graduated from Rittman High School, class of 1946. She was employed in Carton Sales Dept. of Ohio Boxboard for 10 years as well as Topovski Construction and Wooster Imports.
Corlene married Paul H. Snyder of Marshallville in 1951. They resided in Wooster where they owned and operated Liberty Lanes Bowling Alley for 12 years. Later, Paul became a US Mail Hauler for the US Postal Service until retirement.
Corky enjoyed sports and was active in both bowling and golfing leagues.
She loved to watch football – especially the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. She enjoyed playing cards – Euchre was her favorite!
She was a member of Church of the Cross for over 60 years and was active in many committees – serving as Financial Secretary as well as Treasurer for many years.
Corky was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Becky Martello, and brothers Duane and Dale Zimmerman.
She is survived by daughters Sandy Eshleman of Mansfield and Linda (Phil) Shandle of Marysville; grandchildren Dr. Kendall (Josh) Snyder, Jake and Anya Shandle, Olivia and Abby Martello; great grandchildren Rowan, Hadley and Cypress Snyder; sister-in-law Mary Zimmerman; and son-in-law Dan Martello.
Friends may call Monday, April 7, 2025, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Corlene-Snyder). Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
