Craig Brian Coleman was born March 31, 1979 in Ogden, Utah to Randy (Carol) Coleman and Lynda (Kerry) Pipkin. He passed away on April 20, 2022. He was named after his parents' good friend, Craig Hadley and his mother's baby brother, Brian Penrod.
Craig married Victoria Garza on September 13, 2019. He told Victoria that he never believed in soul mates, until he met her. She brought much joy into his life.
Craig graduated from Fremont High School. He was always a quick learner. He loved to be read to every night and he taught himself to read before he entered kindergarten. He was tested in first grade and qualified for the gifted child program. His reading level at that time was at a sixth grade level.
He was highly intelligent, especially when it came to computers. He learned to program in DOS at a very young age using a Texas Instruments computer and a cassette recorder. By the time he got to high school and took his first computer class, he already knew more than the teacher. She often had him teach the class and at the end of the year she invited him to a nice banquet where she presented him with an award. While in high school he entered different computer programming competitions. In 1997 his team took 3rd in the entire state.
After high school, he signed up for computer classes at the local technology center and the local university. He quickly got bored when he knew more than the instructors, so he resorted to buying programming books and teaching himself. He was a speed reader and was great at comprehending, remembering, and recalling everything he read. He had an impressive library of books.
Craig loved animals, especially cats. He and Victoria had three cats–Penny, Jude, and Yuri. He would also feed stray cats.
Craig was an avid bicyclist. As a youth he used to ride with his siblings and his mother to his grandparents' house about 6 miles away. As an adult he loved riding in the mountains. He went biking with his father often and some of his favorite places were Bear Lake, Antelope Island, and the trails surrounding Capitol Reef. One year he set a goal to ride to work every day for a year. It was about a 24 mile round trip. He met his goal, even riding through extreme weather conditions. He wouldn't even accept a ride home during a blizzard.
Craig was also an avid gamer. He goes by @Loonacy online.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Milton Coleman and grandmother Darlene Penrod.
He is survived by his wife, his parents, siblings Angelee (Matt), Ryan, niece Ariana, nephew Ashton, grandmother Norma Coleman, and grandfather Lynn Penrod.
