Craig A. James, 47 of Tower City, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, November 1, 1977. Son of Will and Kathy James of Bend, Oregon.
Craig valued the simple things in life, spending time with his family, and friends. He enjoyed snowboarding, fishing and taking care of his animals. At a young age, Craig was fond of his remote-controlled cars, and model planes, having built several through his youth. This hobby became a passion that transitioned to cars as he grew into adulthood. Craig loved all kinds of cars, but especially Mustangs. Throughout his life, he owned 13, of which he spent numerous hours fixing, repairing, and driving.
Craig appreciated helping and assisting others to improve their lives. He worked for Comfort Keepers as a home health aide, caring for others in their time of need.
He was proceeded in death by his son, Joshua Phillipy, 2020.
Craig is survived by his beloved partner of 20 years, Samantha Wendling. His parents, Will and Kathy James, Oregon; his grandson, Hunter Phillipy, half-brother, Jeffery Phillipy Jr.; two half-sisters, Hillary Keller and Angela Phillipy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends across Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Kansas and Pennsylvania.
Craig will be laid to rest in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joshua Phillipy Trade School Scholarship, c/o Pine Grove School District, 101 School Street, Pine Grove PA 17963.
