Craig Rene Longbotham

Craig R. Longbotham, 69, of Battle Creek Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oneida, New York to Kenniston and Marcelle (DePauw) Longbotham on May 2, 1953. He grew up in Munnsville, NY, moved to Satellite Beach, FL and then came to Battle Creek, MI. He attended Lakeview High School (Class of 1972) where he developed lifelong friendships.
Craig began working at the Federal Center in Battle Creek, MI after high school where he worked for a few years. He then began his career at Millers Wholesale where he retired as a salesman. After retirement, Craig worked at Schluter Systems for 5 years.
He enjoyed playing baseball, which is where he met his wife, Brenda (Shannon) Longbotham. They were married in Gladstone, Michigan on October 7, 1989 and have been married for an unforgettable 34 years.
Craig was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His most treasured moments were spending time with his family, whether it was family dinners, special celebrations, or attending his grandkids special events.
Craig was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. He specifically enjoyed teaching his sons and grandkids how to fish and hunt. Some of Craig's other passions included spending time up north at his cottage, college football, especially Michigan State, and cutting firewood.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenniston and Marcelle Longbotham. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; children, James (Michele) Bennett and Philip (Lisa) Grant; grandchildren, Morgan and Landon Bennett and Trenton and Kyleigh Grant; as well as many beloved dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life to honor Craig, which will be held on February 3, 2023 from 5-7 pm at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service, 375 West Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI.
