Obituary of Craig T Stone
Craig Thomas Stone, a member of the ground operations team for JetBlue at Logan Airport, passed away suddenly on August 10, 2025. He was 58 years old.
Craig was born in Somerville and was one of six children born to Thomas and Maryellen (Donnelly) Stone. In 1973, the family moved from Arlington to Burlington. He attended Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica and was a proud member of the Class of 1985. In high school, Craig played football and was also a member of the wrestling team and was captain his senior year. His love of sports continued throughout his life. He was a Patriots season ticket holder during the Tony Eason and Drew Bledsoe years and a devoted Boston Bruins fan.
Craig worked as a member of the ground operations team at JetBlue for the past 15 years. He was well-known and well-loved by his fellow employees. Over the years, he held a variety of roles, including loading and unloading luggage and cargo, directing planes into terminals, and towing aircraft. While he enjoyed the work, it was the friendships and camaraderie with his coworkers that made it truly meaningful. The bonds he formed with his team made even the earliest 4:30 a.m. shifts a joy.
Craig was an active member of the Cambridge Knights of Columbus, following in his father's footsteps. He became a Third and Fourth Degree member and rose through the ranks to become Grand Knight of his council. He later served as District Deputy, guiding several councils in the area. Craig was "all-in" when it came to the Knights of Columbus. He enthusiastically volunteered for nearly every event and activity, from ceremonial duties with the Fourth Degree Honor Guard to parades, fundraisers like the "Tootsie Roll Drive," and the annual K of C Golf Tournaments. He deeply believed in and embodied the Knights' core principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. He was proud to be a member of the world's largest Catholic organization and to share and represent his faith with others.
Craig was a devoted family man-something he learned from his parents early on. He and his sisters maintained a cherished tradition of Wednesday night family dinners. He never missed a celebration, holiday, birthday, or any opportunity to spend time with loved ones. His niece s and nephews always competed to see who could get the first laugh or chuckle from "Uncle Craig."
Outside of his family, Craig had a variety of interests. He was a huge Star Trek fan and loved attending conventions and events-especially those where he could see his favorite actors or sit in the captain's seat of the Earth ship Enterprise. He also enjoyed movies, whether they were new releases or classic favorites, and often took drives to visit places that held special meaning to him.
Craig was often described as an "old soul." Quiet, calm, large in stature but incredibly gentle, he loved reminiscing about days gone by. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. His passing was sudden and unexpected, but his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
Craig was the devoted son of Thomas A. Stone and Maryellen (Donnelly) Stone. He was a caring and loving brother of Dawn Lashley & her wife Donna Peak of Long Branch, NJ, Keith Stone & his wife Jennifer of Locust Grove, GA, Eric Stone of Los Angeles, CA, Colleen Paggi of Dracut, and Maureen Stone of Dracut and her late companion Russell Copley. He was the uncle of Timothy Lashley, Landon Copley, Timothy Paggi, Jr, and Mackenzie Paggi. He was also survived by many cousins, aunt's, uncle's, friends and his coworkers at JetBlue.
