Curtis "Marlin" Eugene Nalls was born October 12, 1939, in Hunt County, to Louie Nalls and Maggie Mae (Ishmael) Nalls. He passed away, in his home, on February 17, 2025.
Marlin was a much beloved member of his family because he reminded us of our roots. He grew up in a farm family that farmed with horses. The farm grew enough food for the people and the animals. They grew their own vegetables, milked their own cows, gathered their own eggs, made their own music and shot their own varmints. Like other boys on those farms, Marlin early learned how to shoot straight and always to tell the truth, figuratively and literally. If a boy learned to play music that was icing on the cake, and that was Marlin. He was an accomplished guitar player. He could always cheer you up by playing his guitar. The family had two beautiful paint horses for plowing, and a windmill for water. They regarded a horse as the most handsome animal Mother Nature ever created. With this rich background, conversation with Marlin was always a treat. He will be deeply missed.

I always would see "Marlin" sitting at Reames Market drinking coffee in the mornings and would always wave at him trying to make his day better and he would always wave back with a smile. I'll miss the waves in the morning but I know your in a better place.
