Cynthia Lou Ockert, age 68, of Ionia, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1956, the daughter of Jackie and Wreatha (Waldren) Cooper in Ionia.
Cynthia loved her family. She enjoyed doing crosswords, working with children as a para pro. She was a lover of life.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Ockert (Jaime Garcia-Cati), Teresa Gomez (Adrian Mendez), Amber Ockert, Jennifer Garcia-Cati (Pablo Garcia-Cati); grandchildren, Skyler Ockert, Valentine Garcia-Ockert, Jaime Garcia-Ockert, Phoenix Garcia-Ockert, Brandon Ockert (Sara Reyes), Joseluis (Ashlie) Ibarra, Alejandro Ramirez-Ockert, Ricardo Martinez-Cruz, Adrian Gomez, Juan Gomez (Blaze Anez), Alejandra Ockert, Kayla Ockert, Lucio Hernandez-Cruz, Pablo Garcia-Cati, Angel Garcia-Cati, Javier Garcia-Cati, 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Cooper, Scott Cooper, sister, Lori Valasquez, several nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and many others she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral, (12PM-1PM). Online Condolences may be made to www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
