Cynthia Dee Wilson, 67, most recently residing in Langhorne, died suddenly on April 5, 2023. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Alma Geddes.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a 1973 graduate of Pennsbury High School and attended Millersville State College. During her 40 year career she worked for Union Fidelity Life Insurance Company as a Claims Analyst, Cooper Pest Control as a Customer Service Representative, Covance as an Administrative Coordinator, and Metals USA in their Accounts Receivable Department. She reluctantly retired in 2014 due to health issues.
Miss Wilson was a history buff, genealogist, and voracious reader. A fourth great-grandfather (George Geddes) and a fifth great-grandfather (George Ludwig Bilger) served in the Revolutionary War. She was a charter member of the Bucks County Genealogical Society and a former member of the Historic Morrisville Society and Friends of the Delaware Canal. She donated Mile Marker #33 to the Friends of the Delaware Canal in memory of the four generations of her mother's family who worked not the canal. She was also a distant cousin of Theodore Roosevelt.
She was acknowledged for her contribution to the book "Images of America: Plumstead Township." Until her health declined, she was a frequent letter writer to the Bucks County Courier Times.
She is survived by her cousins, Joseph B. Geddes II and his wife Rita (Feasterville, PA), Barbara Geddes Crespo and her husband Anthony (Eastampton, NJ), and their families, as well as an extended clan and good friends, Donna J. Fordham of Bradenton Florida, Gail Monaghan of Philadelphia, Donna M. Wallace and Joelle Pilieri of Levittown, and Carolyn McLaurin of Newtown.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, April 15 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Home in Morrisville, PA, followed by interment at the Solebury Friends Meeting Burial Grounds, where her cremated remains will be buried next to her parents. She is the fifth generation of her maternal Grandmother's family to be buried there. Memorial contributions may be made to:
