Dale L. Vincent, 93, of Lake Summerset, IL died at 9:48 p.m., on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born July 2, 1930 in Rockford, IL, about 2 miles north of Camp Grant on South Main Street, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Esie (Swanborg) Vincent. He attended from Kishwaukee School. Lived by Beyer Stadium and was the bat boy for the Rockford Peaches the first yeas. Then the family moved to Broadway and he attended Turner School, Lincoln Middle School, graduated from East High School class of 1948. Dale enlisted in to the US Airforce in 1949 and was honorably discharged in 1953. Dale passed the Rockford Fire Department Test in 1958, retiring in 1985. Dale married Joyce L. Smith in Rockford on July 30, 1960. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #767.
Survivors include: son Kerry (Shelly) Vincent; daughter Renee (Michael) Perricone; son Michael (Jennifer) Vincent, Matthew Vincent, David Vincent; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, sisters Jane, Geraldine, brothers Richard, Ralph, Warren.
Cremation Rites were Accorded. Final resting place to be in Durand Township Cemetery.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I had many good times with Dale over the years on the fire department. He had a different outlook on many things that we "discussed" sometimes quite loudly. I used to get on him for snoring. once he even tried to tape his mouth closed. Obviously the tape couldn't hold up to the snores. :>}
