Dan Selby Obituary

Danny Ray Selby, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Dan was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Pop to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an automotive technician and driver at Jiffy Lube for several years. He had a passion for music as a bass guitar player and was a member of Louisville Express. Dan devoted several years to the music industry and was a member of multiple bands over the years. He cherished his music family and creating memories with them. He adored his fur babies and took the best care of his dogs, Mimi, Zoey, Blondie, Claire, and Baby. Dan will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on December 14, 1948 in Jamestown, Kentucky to Ralph and Evelyn (Antle) Selby. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Selby; mother, Evelyn Alexander; grandson, Michael Houchin; and his beloved dogs, Mimi, Zoey, Blondie, Claire, and Baby.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ramona Selby; children, Angela (Clyde) Trombley, Kendra Spear, Rachele (Archie "Chip") Thomas, Keri North, Cheryl Selby, David Spear; grandchildren, Stephen, Shane, Sarah, Bethany, Madison, Jamie, William, Danielle, Kevin, Kyle, Quentin, Alex, Logan, Trey; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.

The family requests that contributions in Dan’s memory be made to Cedar Lake Lodge.
