In Loving Memory of Dana Ann Cox
Dana Ann cox, age 58, of Clinton, Tennessee, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Dana was born on July 4, 1967, in Gary, Indiana, to Richard Tate and Hilda Rhea (Turley) Cox. From the very beginning, she brought light and laughter to those around her – a true firecracker born on the Fourth of July.
She is survived by her loving mother, Hilda Cox; her daughter, Janie Bigger; her sister, Tina Chavez; her brother, Richard Cox; her step-sister, Regina; her nieces, Diana Lowery, Korrin Cox, Kristin cox; nephew, Todd Cox (Paula); and her significant other, James Buckner, and many others. She was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Richard, who she loved dearly, and all of her beautiful children.
Dana had a creative soul and a generous heart. She loved spending her time crafting and crocheting, often making something special just to see someone smile. She was always up for a good card game – especially Rummy or playing a board game of Aggravation – where laughter, teasing, and family stories filled the room. Dana will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, and the way she made everyone feel cared for. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN 46360, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jamie Constant officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in Dana's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the ASPCA since Dana had such a love for animals.
