Daniel Sankey Obituary

Known for his wisdom and kind nature, Daniel treated everyone with the respect and decency he wished to receive in return. His love for fishing and gardening reflected his connection to the outdoors, while his passion for cooking delighted all who had the pleasure of enjoying his meals. A lifelong fan of blues music, he often found joy in the rhythms that echoed the stories of life.
Daniel was also a deeply religious man, whose faith guided him throughout his life and inspired those around him. He never truly grew up at heart, embracing the spirit of childhood in the way he loved and interacted with others.
Daniel leaves behind his children, June F Allen, Diane (John) Ransom, John Anthoney (Jacqueline) Sankey, and Daniel Sankey Jr.; 14 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Charlene; his parents, John and Mattie; his children, Delores Sankey and Valerie Sankey-Harris.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Daniel's remarkable life during calling hours on August 26, 2025, at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Reed Funeral Home CANTON. Daniel will be laid to rest in West Lawn Cemetery.
Daniel Sankey Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and heartfelt wisdom that will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
