Daniel Lloyd Joseph Bowen, 43, of Ogden, Utah died Monday, March 9, 2026. Daniel was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 16, 1983. He is the son of Laura Pare’ and Dennis Bowen. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and great uncles. He is survived by his mother; his stepfather, Jim Gramse; one sister, Jolene Latimer; two sons, Daniel and Payton; one Uncle, Eric Pare’; two great-uncles, Rejean Pare’ (Jackie) and Gerald Pare’ (Kelly); one great-aunt, Rachel Gott (Merle); nephews, Kyle, Kaleb, Kodi, and Korey; one niece, Kayley; and numerous cousins.
Daniel graduated from Kearns-St. Ann School, then went on to Judge Memorial Catholic High School. At Salt Lake Community College, he studied aviation and business. He was a sacristan at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, worked part-time with Ron Mirabelli who became a valued father-figure, was active in Youth Group, basketball, football, and Kenpo Karate, earning medals at the Summer Olympics held in Utah. Along with these activities, he regularly developed his artistic talent with drawing lessons.
As an adult, Daniel was known for his kind heart and good humor. He could put a smile on anyone’s face. He was a natural. Daniel didn’t know the meaning of the word ‘stranger’ because he saw everybody as a new friend, as someone important. He was nonjudgmental and forgave other’s their wrongdoings. Every time. He always made time to listen to people, sharing his gift of gab with them and reaching out to offer help to all he encountered. Daniel loved the household pets and extended his kindness in caring for foster animals. He worked as a driver, heavy equipment operator, and in construction. He enjoyed chess, drawing, hiking, landscaping, mountain biking, snowboarding, and video games. His favorite book, Robinson Crusoe, reflects his vigor for life and his lifelong pursuit of personal transformation.
Each year, Daniel looked forward to setting up massive outdoor holiday displays to bring joy to the neighborhood. “Like a good neighbor, Daniel was there”; shoveling blocks of snow, mowing lawns, ensuring trash cans were in/out, and helping as needed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James the Just, 495 N Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah 84404 on March 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine.
