Daniel Francis McGuire joined his family in heaven on September 21, 2024. Born February 12, 1938 on Chicago's north side, Son of the late Daniel F. and LavonaTheresa McGuire. Loving brother of the late Patricia McGuire and John C McGuire (Judy). Beloved husband of the late Sharon Rose McGuire. Proud dad of Daniel (Monika), Michael (Mary Kay) and Jodi Maureen. Dear Papa of 5 wonderful grandchildren, Lucy, Mikey, Brigitte, Johnny and Nicole. Uncle Dan to a host of Nieces, Nephews but also to so many for whom he earned the status of Uncle. Cherished friend to many.
Dan was a proud product of Catholic education. Baptized into Christ at St. Margaret Mary church, graduate of St Andrews grammar school and DePaul Academy. A proud member of the DePaul Academy class of '56 and lifelong advocate for his beloved DePaul Academy Alumni Club. A quintessential Irishman and one of the founding fathers of Shillelagh Shenanigans, the annual SMM St Pat's Party and fundraiser. And of course, your source for the annual shamrock keychain reminder that it is NOT St Patrick's Day......it is most certainly St Patrick's Month!
Visitation will be held at Holy Child Jesus Parish (the former St Margaret Mary Church) 2324 W. Chase Ave, 60645, starting at 9:30 AM Saturday September 28, with Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Evanston, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan's name can be made to the Howard Infante Endowed Scholarship Fund at DePaul College Prep.
