Daniel Ostrander, 60, of New Providence, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at his residence. The family will host a service at a later time. Counsell Woodley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Iowa Falls is caring for Dan and his family.
Daniel LeRoy Ostrander was born on August 27, 1962 to Ralph and Joyce (Steen) Ostrander in Clinton, Iowa. Following high school, Dan honorably served in the United States Army. On April 3, 2004 Daniel was united in marriage to Kimberly Young at the Harriman Park in Hampton, Iowa.
Daniel loved being with his family. He enjoyed travelling, gardening and the outdoors with the occasional appearance of an eagle that would brighten his day. Dan was a proud republican and supporter of the "Let's Go Brandon" movement. Unless you are living in a cave, you know what that means. He would say it's done with a little bit of class and if you object and are taking it too seriously, so go away. #FJB. Dan found the humor in all the political seriousness.
Daniel Ostrander is survived by his children, Mary (Joe) Housley of Des Moines, Derek (Michelle) Ostrander of Des Moines, Megan (Shawn) Pantalion of New Providence, Brandy Hudson of Nashua, Josh Hudson of Waterloo, KC Feldman of Geneva; step sons, Josh (Christina) Young and Jared (Olivia) Young of Portage, Indiana; grandchildren: Pheonix, Hailey, Jocelyn, Dylan, Lydia, Faith, Hope and step-children, Coda, Cameron and Ethan as well as other grandchildren. He is also survived by Cindy (Warren) Oelmann and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Ostrander; parents, Ralph and Joyce Ostrander; brothers, Donald and Jim Ostrander and sister, Christine Noah.
