Danny Clifton Thomas, 67, lifetime resident of New Albany, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, following an extended illness.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Thomas will be Wednesday, September 26, 2023, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funerals and Cremations with Bro. Robert Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallerville Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas was born, January 3, 1956, to the late Daniel Thomas and Mamie Ruth Hogue Thomas McClure. He received his education from the East Union Public School System. Mr. Thomas worked as a soybean and cotton farmer most of his life.
A Christian, Mr. Thomas will be remembered for his witty personality that always brought a smile out of anyone he was around. Some of his favorite hobbies include spending time with family, especially those that called him "Paw", having neighbors over with family for cookouts, hunting and fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Amanda Walton (Walt) of Blue Springs, Cristie McCraw (Hugh) of Southaven, and Jennifer Thomas of Myrtle, one son, Stephen Travis Thomas (Dena) of New Albany, two sisters, Shirley Tedford (Gary) of New Albany and Annette Clayton (Brandon) of Blue Springs, one brother, Danny Wayne Thomas of New Albany, ten grandchildren, Kristina, Logan, Hunter, Lucas, Maggie, Tyler, Ceara, Gabby, Stevie and Kadie, three great grandchildren, his much adored nieces and nephews, and a special canine companion, Onyx. He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children and friend, Janet Thomas, one sister, Ann Moody, and one brother, Dewayne McClure.
