Danny Gerald Witherspoon

Danny Gerald Witherspoon. Age 81, from Midwest City, Oklahoma. Passed away on September 2nd, 2025, and went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Danny was born on November 30th, 1943, to James Witherspoon and Cecil Stuart.
Danny graduated from Star Spencer High School, where he also played basketball for many years. A passion of his was fishing, and he spent much of his free time going to lakes and ponds with family. Another pastime he loved was playing ping pong. He spent many days as a kid playing at the local YMCA and would play all day without losing even once! He was very good!
Danny spent 49 years of his life working at Sears selling appliances. He made countless lifelong friends and was quickly labeled funniest employee in the store! He had a strong desire to help people find what they needed. He took great pride in the fact that early on he made $58 per week at Sears and still managed to raise a family + take them on yearly vacations.
Danny absolutely loved his family, and he found much comfort in spending quality time with the love of his life, Carolyn Witherspoon, until the time of her passing. He also enjoyed playing basketball and cards with his son Steve, as well as going on lunch dates with his daughter Julie.
The true highlight of his latter years was getting to surround himself with his grandkids, especially by attending their various sports and activities.
Above all else, the most important thing in Danny's life was his faith and relationship with Jesus. Danny loved witnessing to others and consistently shared his faith with all who would listen. He also made it his mission to have his family in church every time the doors were open!
Danny is survived by his daughter Julie Cage, her husband William, and their children: Skyelar and her husband Blake, Mackenzie and her husband Zach, Talon and Braidyn. He is also survived by his son Steve Witherspoon, his wife Lisa, and their children Noah and Aspen. In addition, Danny leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Brylee, Emma, Ava, Braxton, and Beckam.
He was preceded in death by his mother Cecil Stuart, his wife Carolyn Witherspoon, and his brother Don Witherspoon.
Danny will be deeply missed by all who loved him; however, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at rest with the Lord and reunited with those who went before him.
