John David Cassetty was born August 26, 1937, in Jackson County, TN and he passed away at The Waters of Gainesboro on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 87.
David was the son of Johnnie Eldon Cassetty and Alta Claudine Cassetty. He worked in the sales agriculture field. He was a member of the Stone Church of Christ and Tennessee Vegetation Management Association. On June 25, 1960 he married Judith Ann Davis for a total of 64 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bobby, Sam, and Bill Cassetty; and sister: Sarah Willis.
Survivors include his spouse: Judy Cassetty of Gainesboro; son: John Thomas Cassetty of Gainesboro; daughters: Susan (Curtis) Putnam of Fairview, TN and Melissa (Thomas) Vance of Carthage, TN; brothers: George (Patsy) Cassetty of Gainesboro, TN and Charles (Jane) Cassetty of Crossville, TN; sister: Connie (Bob) Gerregano of Nashville, TN, grandchildren: Matt (Kimberly) Putnam, Luke (Brittany) Putnam, Caleb (Mary) Putnam, Jake Vance, and Logan Vance; great grandchildren: Bryce, Kamryn, Keegan, Cooper, Penelope, Daphne, Robin, Bennett, and Sawyer. Nieces and nephews along with friends also survive.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 10 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 1pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Charles Cassetty and Matt Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Davis Family Cemetery located in Sparta, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in David's honor to the Hope Lodge or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
