David Carl "Dave" Eckenfels II was born June 28, 1972 in Dallas, TX to David and Karen Eckenfels and passed from this life on July 29, 2023 in Garland, TX.
Dave was an early riser, a hard worker, and the person everyone went to for advice. He always told you what you needed to hear, and it was always the best knowledge. Anyone could call him for anything, and he would always help in whatever way he could. He may have only had two daughters, but he was the best father figure to any children around him. For these reasons, he made a huge impact on everyone's life. Dave also had many loves. He loved motorcycles, auto restoration, and finding treasures with his metal detector. He was a huge sports fan. One of his biggest loves was the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest love, though, was his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Julius and Ruth Hancock; and his paternal grandparents, Carl and Jessie Eckenfels.
Dave is survived by his daughters, Brandi Eckenfels and Hayley Eckenfels; his grandchildren, Amir (AJ) Ali and Kayla Nicole Hill, as well as Baby Alcorn and Baby Hill coming soon; his mother, Karen Eckenfels; his siblings, Dena Nichols and husband Stephen and family, Elizabeth Johnson and family, Andrew Eckenfels and wife Michelle and family, and Kathryn Eckenfels and family; and the mother of his children, Debora Eckenfels and family.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:30pm on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel with a celebration of Dave's life beginning at 2:30pm.
**Dallas Cowboys apparel/attire optional as we honor one of their greatest fans**
Food and refreshments will be shared at the Nichols' Home at 219 S. Austin, Hutchins, TX 75141 following the services at 5:00pm.
