David Wesley Hand

David Wesley Hand, age 77, was born on August 6, 1947, to the late John and Frances Hand, in Atlanta, GA. He grew up in Clayton County, South of Atlanta. In his final years, he lived in Dacula, GA and spent time in Orange Beach, AL.
David had two siblings, Johnette Hand Peek and Earnest "Bud" Hand, both now deceased. David was lovingly married to Patricia Annette Ward. He had two daughters, Amanda Elane LeBlanc of Sautee, GA and Courtney Renee Hand of Dacula, GA.
He has six grandchildren, Gabriel Rogers (deceased), Corey Rogers (Summer), Jonathan Hand, Wesley King, Avery Hurley, and Wyatt Hurley. He also had three "adopted" grandchildren, Lola Atwell, Preston Rogers, and Brady Atwell. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
David attended three years of law school and then went into the steel business. He would have been in business for himself 48 years on July 1, 2025. He was supported by a wonderful staff, many whom had been with him throughout his entire career and others who came in more recent years, all who were faithful and supportive. He considered them as more than employees, but family.
David attended church at Ivy Creek Baptist Church, Buford, GA.
David took his last breath in this world on June 6, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He is now with his Lord and Savior in Heaven, free from pain from cancer.
In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to Ivy Creek Baptist Church, Buford, GA, or to the City of Hope Cancer Center, Newnan, GA. He loved both.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 6 PM – 7 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, 3481 Hamilton Mill Rd Buford, GA 30519. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 5 PM – 6 PM at the funeral home.
