David Lane Herndon, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his residence.
Born July 25, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Bob and Shirley Herndon, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 5 years having moved from Cleveland, GA. Mr. Herndon retired as a Fire Inspector for the Cobb County Fire Department following 17 years of service. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and was an avid UGA football and NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Herndon, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Chad and Jaime Herndon, Dawsonville; daughter, Kelli Pruitt, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Payten Grace Pruitt, Riley Aaron Herndon, Natalie Blake Herndon; brother and sister in law, Richard Wayne and Pam Herndon, Eldon, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 6 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Darrell Pruitt will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Hospital of Atlanta, give.choa.org.
