David. I can't believe you're gone. You were an absolute original. I'll miss your curiosity, your intellect, your creativity and your genuine concern for others. I'm grateful to have known you.

While I never got to meet David in person, I was privileged to be one of his contributors for Talker of the Town. Working with David was a delight. His enthusiasm, intelligence and boundless curiosity were inspiriting. I will always be grateful for having had those opportunities to talk to him. His passing leaves a big hole in the life of his community.

David: I knew u as a Brown '86 classmate who had a zest for life & learning, enjoyed laughing, and remember one heartfelt conversation we had about our shared love of English Language Arts (ELA), lifelong learning, enjoying good reading content, and a desire to teach. We both pursued and realized the passion of teaching and empowering "the next generation" in the education sector. May u rest in peace. Prayerful that we who knew u will keep your spirit alive through shared memories. #EverTrue // M.D. Smith :-)

I am so incredibly sad to hear this. I remember him well at brown University. I liked him because he was funny, smart -- and unique. Everything about him was unique - and he cared more about connecting and sharing ideas then putting on airs and posturing. He was real and I really valued that. I can see his smile so clearly - and I can hear is laughter even right now from so long ago. He was a good person; a good heart. Easy to talk to and communicate with, so approachable. Our birthday years with the same and we were born one month apart (I in October)... I wish I knew how someone so young dies. This is sad, and I'm sorry he's not in this world with us anymore.
