David Eugene Lamb
David Eugene Lamb, 71, of Farmland, IN, joined his Lord and Savior in Glory on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, peacefully surrounded by loved ones at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. David was born in Muncie, IN, on July 19, 1953, a son of Mary Lucille (Girton) Lamb and the late Eugene Vernon Lamb. He was a 1971 graduate of Monroe Central High School and went on to further his education in Texas as a Heavy Equipment Operator. David retired from Dirt Works & Asphalt Paving, Inc. in Parker City, IN, and was dedicated to continuing his family farming legacy. He was a faithful member of Rehoboth Church, Randolph County 4H Shooting Sports, Indiana Hunters Education, the Farmland Conservation Club, former Boy Scouts of America Leader and former President of Indiana Farm Bureau. David was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather who loved supporting his wife, family, and grandkids activities, helping them with 4H projects, cooking on the grill, gardening, going to truck & tractor pulls, taking care of his cows, collecting toy tractors, listening to Country or Old Gospel Hymns, camping and sitting next to the fire with his dog. He is known for his gentle, patient, kind, loving, helpful, and laid back personality. David loved to visit with people, never knew a stranger, could fix anything, made it a priority to check on his neighbors and help local widows with anything they might need. The man that never stopped moving, yet was never in a hurry, met you with a firm handshake and left you with the best bear hug ever. David is survived by his wife Carol (Scott) Lamb who he happily married on May 21, 1977, his mother: Mary Lamb, 4 children: Christy Daniels (Mike), Casey Headland (Brent), Eric Lamb (Betsy Lynn), Betsy Abshire (Blake), 4 sisters: Suzie Mitchell (Dan), Becky Kohl (Bernie), Jane Keyler (Larry), Jennifer Hammond (Aaron), 8 grandchildren: James, Nathan, Wyatt, Makayla, Johnathan, Alexis, Mattie, Max and a new grandson on the way. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. David was preceded in death by his father: Eugene Lamb, daughter: Katy Lamb and grandson: Kenneth Daniels. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 11 AM - 2 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Randy Davis, Pastor Shannon Rogers, and Pastor Sandi Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be held in Poplar Run Cemetery in Farmland, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Randolph County 4H Shooting Sports (1885 US-27 Winchester, IN. 47394) or Rehoboth Church (3955 N. 1000 W. Parker City, IN. 47368).
