David was born February 7, 1963, in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, to Herbert LeGros and Melba Breaux.
David was our very SPECIAL brother. He loved like no other, always had a smile on his face, and never met a stranger. His love was contagious. Everyone he knew had a special place in his heart, his heart was HUGE. In his younger years his school friends knew him as "ELVIS". He became "NONKY" to his nieces and nephews. He loved to hunt in his younger years, but later in life, his passion was fishing at his brother's houseboat. David developed a special bond with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's office after his mom passed away. They were his rock; they went above and beyond to always be there for him. Special thanks to all of them for the unconditional love they gave him. It meant the world to him and us.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Irene (Raylan) LaFosse of Jennings and Ina Watkins of Jennings; brother, John (Starlet) LeGros of Jennings; his godchild, Ashlyn LeGros Fontenot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Valerie Gail LeGros.
Pallbearers will be Darin LaFosse, Cole LeGros, Kyle Johnson, Ryan Istre, Brandt Duplechain and Derrick Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Boudreaux, Skylar Conner and Robert Dale Istre.
