David V. Lipes, 78, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2024, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Pastor Lance Green officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery where Davenport American Legion Post #26 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before the services.
David Vernon Lipes was born June 3, 1946, in Moline, to Harold and Virgene (Huff) Lipes. He served in the US Army, and worked for Servus Rubber Company and McLaughlin Body Company. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and enjoyed working on cars, tinkering, and watching wrestling.
Davey is survived by two sisters, Pearl Lipes of Davenport, and Gwendolyn Bomarito of Pekin, Illinois; and nephews, Kimberly (Dawn) Kramer, Lane (Angie) Nelson, Dan Nelson, Jeremy (Tiffany) Nelson, Robbin (Brenda) Kramer, Clayton Whitehead, and Carl Whitehead, and their families.
