David Gerard Miller, age 89, of McKenzie, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzie Church of Christ. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at McKenzie Church of Christ.
Mr. Miller was born on August 12, 1935, in Governor's Island, New York, to the late Dorsey Miller and Helen Bersenger Miller. Mr. Miller is a graduate of McKenzie High School class of 1953. He attended McKenzie Church of Christ where served as both a deacon and an elder. He was always fervent in his desire to spread the gospel to those with whom he came in contact. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Captain. He was an agent and worked for CSX Transportation for 38 years. Mr. Miller was an avid golfer and a Tennessee Vols football fan, and also enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years, Betty Dabbs Miller of McKenzie; son, Steve Miller and wife Judy of Hamilton, Alabama; daughter, Linda Crocker and husband Andy of Lucas, Texas; brother, Richard Miller and wife Loretta of Memphis. Mr. Miller had four grandchildren: Benji Miller and wife Hannah, Marcy Mayes and husband Wes, Ashley Mutchler and husband Josh, and Jennifer Oliver and husband Josh. He also had seven grandchildren: Libby Miller, Annie James Miller, Mae Miller, Madelyn Mayes, Millie Mayes, Kai Mutchler, and Connor Oliver.
