David Barry Miller, 95, of Hillman, formerly of Brighton, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at his home.
David was born in Ann Arbor on October 20, 1929. He attended Brighton High School, where he will be remembered as the first player to score a touchdown on the Sloan Memorial Field. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the Korean War, serving in both Japan and Korea. On February 20, 1954, he married his sweetheart, Mary Lou Miller. Dave worked and retired from the Chevrolet Division at GM Proving Grounds with 35 years of service. He was a devoted family man who found his sanctuary in nature. He had a passion for farming and working the land. He gained notoriety for his Belted Galloway "Oreo Cows" herd. He enjoyed UofM athletics and was a sports enthusiast in general. Bee keeping, hunting and playing cards were among his hobbies. He was a member of the VFW Montmorency Post 2356 and the Hillman Sportsman's Club.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mary Lou; 3 daughters, Krisann (Richard) Farah, Lisa (Sylvain Martel) Miller, Melinda (Stephen) Shine; 5 grandchildren, Colin, Celina (Josh), Kearnen, Fiona, Mae; several nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Royal) Miller; 3 siblings, Rosemary Clark, Norma Mayo, and Blake Miller.
A celebration of David's life will take place at the American Spirit Center 10590 E. Grand River Ave, Brighton, MI 48116 on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 12-3 p.m., military honors will be accorded him by VFW Post 4357 at 12:30. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

I am so sorry & sending prays to Mary and the family. Dave was a wonderful man and I remember his bright eyes and a big smile that went from ear to ear. He & Mary spent many occasions visiting with mom & dad and lots of story´s were told. Now he is in heaven and can visit mom & dad again.
