Nowlin, David A, age 80, passed away in Manchester on June 5, 2025. Born November 28, 1944 near Normandy, TN, "Papa" was the husband of Judy Stephens Nowlin to whom he was married to for 54 years. He was the son of the late John and Golda Nowlin, Sr and was also preceded in death by five brothers: John Jr, Kenneth, Edd, Sam and Frankie Nowlin and one sister: Mamie Ann Nowlin Crosslin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Tracy Denise Smith (Tim), Kimberly Elaine Quick (Joey), grandchildren Shaelyn and Bryson Clanton, Alex Sedlmayr, Nathan Smith and sisters Pauline Holden, Judy Carter and Mary Shelton.
Dave attended Coffee County High School and was a proud Army veteran. After fulfilling his commitment to his country, he spent his next several years as a farmer and an outstanding tractor mechanic as the shop foreman at Barton Implement & Tri-Green Equipment. While his specialty was John Deere, he was often called in to diagnose and remedy problems of all sort of farming implement issues. Papa was so very proud of his children and grandchildren. His advice, knowledge and quick wit will be forever appreciated and missed.
Graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 9 with Minister David Rash officiating at Blantons Chapel Cemetery. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of David, please visit our floral store.
