David was my therapist from 2016 until his retirement - he helped me after my husband died, leaving me with two children under the age of 10 to care for. David once told me he wasn't sure he wanted me to be his client, that I was bratty and didn't seem like I wanted to do the work - but he guided me so beautifully through that initial season of grief, and then when I met my now husband and navigating how to bring my children and new husband together. He was there for me during the pandemic, and in his office, the day he told me that he was retiring, I sobbed because it was devastating. After all, he was that important to me.
He and I spoke about grief often and radical acceptance, which is a concept that only recently feel like I finally understand what he was trying to say in his small office, after so many sessions. I feel selfish to mourn him, but I want his family to know that his life's work of caring for people lives on - I am sure there are countless stories like mine, of people whom he comforted and challenged in the best ways. He was truly exceptional and the world is sadder without him in it.
May his memory be a blessing - it certainly is for me.

This is how I remember David: champion of service, teacher of servanthood, mentor of youth. Circa 1989. Awendaw, SC. Grateful for my friend's legacy and care over us "kids". He will be dearly missed.

David will be truly missed.. I will always be grateful for all the love he shared with our children and the time he took to be sure they knew about Jesus as their savior.
Dave, you leave behind a great legacy and you led many to the Lord, it gets no better my friend.. I will miss your smile, your positive ways and words and that wonderful handshake.

We have fond memories of David Robinson and his family at First Baptist Church of Hopewell. Our four children were ministered by David as the Youth Pastor. Workcamps were often organized for home missions as well as World Changers. He was their friend and mentor. It was under his influence that so many of our kids are still telling stories of their church youth experiences and have stayed close in serving their Lord to this day. We have had lots of laughs with David and will miss knowing he is not around but do know that he is healed now and loving and living the Heavenly Presence of Jesus.
Love to Gail, Chris, Brandon and families....
