David Sylvan Roffers, 90, Green Bay, died on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Unity Hospice. David was born on April 20, 1933 in De Pere, Wisconsin, the son of the late Sylvan and Mary (Friebel) Roffers. David was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement after 30 years. After his retirement from the Post Office, he worked as a secuirity guard at Port Plaza Mall for 3 years.
David married Jacqueline M. VandenBusch on August 31, 1957. He was father to 5 children: Therese (Joseph) Hansen, Crivitz, WI: Karen (Robert) Grzywa, Schertz, TX; Steven Roffers, Cathedral City, CA; Don Roffers (deceased); and Gene Roffers (spouse Rob Colella), Norwalk, CT.
David proudly served his country in the Korean as sergeant in the Combat/Infantry Paratroopers division for 6 years. He was honorably discharged in in Decmber 1956. He was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V.
David took great pride in his yard, and his love of gardening and landscaping was evident to the neighborhood.
David is survived by his 4 children; six grandchildren: Nicole Hansen (Jordon) Knier; Rachel Hansen (Dan) Bloch; Danielle Hansen (Kenneth) Arbour; Brian Grzywa; Sara Grzywa; Alyssa Grzywa (David) Troyanoski; 11 great great-grandchildren: Cameron, Brooke Lynn, Ella Louise, and Finnick Troyanoski; Elena Knier; Bradi, Easton, Riggs, and Reagan Bloch; and Riley Jo Arbour and new baby to come.
David was preceded in death by one son, Don; his wife Jackie of 64 years; both parents and his brother, Lee.
A Private Memorial Service will be held for the immediate family. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
