Later in life he developed a handmade knife business and sold them at flea markets, rodeos and special events. He became known lovingly as the Knife Man around town.
David was an avid sports fan and was always knowledgeable of the teams and players. David was a deeply devout Christian and read many Christian books and listened to Christian music. He loved Harley Motorcycles and enjoyed riding through the countryside.
His greatest love was being with his family and friends. After the holidays and reunions, he seemed most happy. David had a big personality and lived large. He was a prankster and had a quick wit. He loved being with friends and keeping them laughing. He battled to be the best person he could be and was deeply loved by all.

David was not only my big brother, he was one of my best friends. I will miss all the phone calls and text we used to share. David was always so sweet and considerate of everybody that he came across. After I lost Lindy, my brother called to check on me at least twice a day just to make sure I was OK. I will miss my big brother so much. . I Love you David
