David Bruce Vice

David Bruce Vice, resident of Omega Bay, left us too soon on June 14, 2023. He was born February 11, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas. Raised in Port Arthur, he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1975. He moved to Houston to find a career, met his wife, and started a family. He eventually landed in League City, TX, which is where he resided until moving closer to Galveston. He was employed by Brown & Root, Fluor Daniel, Millennium and various other companies throughout his 40-year career, often being able to share jobs with his brothers-in-law, Duane and Dwight, with whom he shared a special bond.
He is preceded in death by his father, Preston Vice; his loving mother, Colleen Vice; brother, Darrell Vice; and his brother-in-law, Greg Turner. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deann Vice; his son, Chad (Danielle) Vice; and his daughter, Michelle (Harry) Antonopoulos. He was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren that will continue to be his legacy. He is also survived by brothers, Brad Vice and Jeff (Sandra) Vice; sister, Liz Turner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
David enjoyed having a good time, and friends and family often recall how fun he always was. He especially enjoyed spending the holidays with family. There are fond memories of gifts around the tree, delicious Cajun rice, and night caps with games played into the night. David shared a love for the ocean, so much so that he and Deann lived on the water for 21 years. The passion for fishing grew within the family and often was a source of bonding. He had a boat, and he had a "spot" that was often very generous with some trout and redfish that he enjoyed cooking. In his younger years, he was an avid surfer and enjoyed many water sports. David always thoughtfully planned wonderful vacations for him and his family; two a year. Destin, Forida will always stand out as a special place with many memories made that will last a lifetime.
