David Alan Wetherbee, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 9, 1988, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Ronald A. Wetherbee and Kelley J. Nolan. David attended Ashtabula schools and was proud of earning his GED, later pursuing college coursework. Throughout his life he worked hard, whether in construction or following his love for cooking. David was a son, father, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend. He will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, kindness, and his gift of gab. A sports fan, he cheered passionately for Kobe Bryant and the Tennessee Titans. Though he faced struggles with addiction, his family finds peace knowing that he is now free from pain. He is survived by his father, Ronald A. Wetherbee; his mother, Kelley (Shontell Lucas) Nolan; his children, Daylin, Skyler, Amira, and Dausyn; his siblings, Megan (Joshua Chatman) Nolan, Amanda Wetherbee, Bryanna (Jake) Hileman-Nolan, Davon Chatman, Cheyenne Chatman, Lina Lee Criste, and Dre'shon Lucas; his grandmother, Doris Brunson; his uncles, Scott Nolan and Mike (Ernie) Nolan; ten beloved nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. David was preceded in death by his grandparents. Private family services were observed. Ducro Funeral Home and Crematory 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is assisting the family.
