Richard Wessell Obituary

He was born June 16, 1936 in Rome, the son of Kenneth and Lillian (Evans) Wessell and had been an area resident most of his life.
A graduate of Rome High School, he briefly attended college before joining the workforce. For 25 years, he worked for RMI where he retired as the Chief Metal Lab Technician.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served just prior to the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading mystery books, and bowling and was very proud of having bowled a perfect 300 game. He also loved being with his kids and grandchildren.
Richard is survived by wife of 64 years, Jennine (Ready) Wessell, whom he married February 5, 1961; three children, Rick Wessell, Debbie (James) Petrey, and Dan (Kayla) Wessell; his son-in-law, Scott Cremeans; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Cremeans; granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Hubbard; brother, Dale Wessell; his sister, Loretta Meredyk; and his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Rome Township Cemetery.
