Quinton David Wimber, known affectionately to all as David, embarked on his life's journey on January 15, 1967, in Henderson, KY, and after a life rich in experiences and love, completed his earthly chapter on April 24, 2025, in Evansville, IN. David's life was a testament to the power of kindness and courage, qualities that defined his every action and interaction.
David was a proud graduate of Henderson County High School, a foundational chapter where he honed not just his intellect but the values that would guide him throughout his life. His commitment to service was unwavering, as evidenced by his tenure as an Army Veteran, a period during which he exhibited the courage and dedication that would become his hallmark.
Post-service, David channeled his skills into a successful career as a technician for Centerpoint, where his work ethic and collaborative spirit made him not only a valued employee but a beloved colleague. His professional life was marked by the same generosity and warmth that he brought to every aspect of his existence.
Away from the demands of work, David found solace and joy in the embrace of the natural world. He loved fishing-a peaceful pursuit that allowed him time to reflect and connect with the world around him. Those tranquil moments by the water were some of his most cherished.
David's life was a mosaic of relationships, each tile representing the family and friends he loved so dearly. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicky Wimber; his stepdaughters Kimberly Evans, Jennifer Dempster, Ashley Gatewood and stepsons Tim Buchanan and Tyler Atkinson. His sisters Debbie (Michael) Smith, Vicki Wheldon, and Jana Jenkins, along with fifteen grandchildren, carry forward the light of his legacy.
Though predeceased by his parents, June Stewart and Steve Roger Wimber, Sr., and his stepson, Cody Dotson, David's spirit of resilience and love continues to shine brightly in those who knew him.
David's life story is one of triumph, not of circumstance, but of character. His kindness was his compass, his courage his anchor. He navigated life's storms with a steady hand and a heart open to the beauty that each day offered. David's legacy is not merely in the roles he filled but in the lives he touched and the unwavering optimism he inspired.
In a world that often calls for endurance, David was a beacon of hope, reminding us all that the human spirit is capable of boundless compassion and heroism. Let us honor his memory by emulating his kindness, living courageously, and embracing each day as a gift to be cherished. David's journey continues in the stories we share, the memories we hold dear, and the love that endures.
