Dawn Wenzel, 66, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away on May 11, 2022 at Arborwood Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids.
To honor Dawn's wishes, there will be a private service and celebration of life at a later date.
Dawn was born on August 30, 1955 in Wisconsin Rapids to William "Bill" and Gail (Saeger) Michalsen. She was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School and in the same year, started working at Consoweld until 1993. While she raised her daughter, she was a caretaker and assisted during harvest at Gaynor Cranberry.
Throughout her life, Dawn was adventurous and enjoyed the outdoors. She was especially passionate about horses and going to horse shows. Dawn also loved trips to the family cabin, fishing, gardening, shooting pool, cooking, and baking.
Dawn is survived by her partner Raymond Ringer, Jr.; daughter Katie (fiancée Justin Peters) Wenzel; step-son Nathan (Molly) Wenzel; sister Susan (Gary) Dempze; brother John (Ann) Michalsen; nieces Tina (Craig) Leverance, Amy (Ryan) Cournoyer, Heidi (Brian) Slinkman, and Jenna (Denton Debuhr) Dempze; nephew Bill (Theresa) Michalsen; and life-long friend Kathy Heinzen.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Gail Michalsen.
Dawn's family would like to thank the staff at Arborwood Lodge and Compassus Hospice for the exceptional care she received.
